Dr. Sweeney conducted a comprehensive process analysis to improve workflow in the technical services department of the St. Louis Public Library (collection development, ordering, receiving, processing, cataloging, and distribution). The study included observations, interviews, work diaries, time-to-shelf analysis, and environmental scan of best practices in peer libraries.
