The Mukwonago Community Library (MCL) is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to conduct a fundraising feasibility study for a potential library renovation project. Any questions related to this RFP should be directed to Library Director Abby Armour at (262) 363-6411 Ext. 4100 or aarmour@mukwonagolibrary.org.
In 2023 and 2024, MCL engaged with Engberg Anderson Architects to prepare a Renovation Study to determine how best to meet the evolving needs of the community. The Renovation Study proposed a $2.7M renovation project, to be implemented in three (3) phases staged across six (6) years. MCL has a goal of raising $1.5M to $2.0M from private sources towards the completion of the proposed library renovation, with the balance coming from public sources.
MCL occupies approximately 27,500 square feet, including a basement utilized for storage and mechanical equipment. The facility was initially constructed in 1996 and underwent an expansion in 2011. In the past eight years, MCL has experienced significant growth in its services and programs, necessitating progressive reconfiguration of the existing interior space. However, these minor adjustments have reached their limits in addressing the MCL’s needs. Consequently, MCL now aims to cost-effectively implement structural modifications to permanently resolve ongoing sound and space challenges.
The purpose of engaging in a Feasibility Study is to determine potential capital campaign support, determine a realistic capital campaign goal, and identify steps MCL needs to take to best meet goals of a capital campaign.
